My Galaxy Fix.

I've been asked time and time again about my unhealthy obsession with galaxies and the universe. Usually, I don't have a response. From a much younger age, the concept of shooting stars and galaxies fascinated me. Aliens were a terrifying thought, but it also kindled my curiousity. This fascination did not result in me wanting to become an astronaut, or study Astronomy. I wanted to keep my distance yet I was slowly falling in love.
I realize now, that more than it being something to do with the vast universe, it was about colors, texture and the unknown. I was drawn by the lights, the shades of planets and the various colors of the universe. If there is a chance that extraterrestrials exists, then could you imagine the diversity of colors , imagery and textures that we could find someday? No, because it is way beyond our imagination. Aliens were something that captivated my mind because of the endless possibilities of what they looked like. Did they have big heads, were they beautiful , did they have three eyes? Years of sketches at the back of my notebooks may have just been my interpretation of aliens, but what I truly love is that I still have no idea of the reality.
Of recently, I've reached a level of obsession where I spend hours dabbing and throwing paint at a canvas, trying to create my own universe. White for the stars, black base of the galaxy merged with pinks, purples, greens and blues. Creating colors outside this dimension. Using a palette of texture to create a unique feel. In my head there are endless tones to play with, every inch of our universe might look different, every hour might give way to a different view. Add unpredictable comets and meteors to the picture and we have a new perspective, or a new vision. I could go on and on about how fantastic the it all look.
My mother always said, her head is in the clouds... but she was aiming too low. My mind, was and still is always going to be in the universe, but for now, i'd prefer if my feet remained firmly on earth.

A heartfelt open letter to Luis Suarez

This is not revenant anymore, maybe it’s not a trending topic, maybe you don’t even care. It’s taken me this long to pen this down, because it’s taken me a while to get my thoughts down straight. This has been work in progress for the last month. Trust me, this letter could have taken as much time as it did for Liverpool to get back in the Champions League, but, for me, I need to get my closure right now.
I’ve been a Liverpool fan for 15 years or so, for some that may not be long, but for me, its more than half my life. I watched Liverpool from the days of Robbie Fowler, and even today,I’m dealing with all the ups and down that this beautiful club brings to us. Though I  may not be at Anfield watching every game, I feel more connected to it than anything else.
What I want to say first, is how disappointed I am. I am upset, maybe a little furious at how things have turned out. I am frustrated, hurt and subdued because of what has happened in the last two years.  Now that you are no longer a player, I hope you get what you truly deserve. For all that you put us through, I hope you get double in return.
I am disappointed at what the English Media has put you through, I am upset with what the people have said. Mostly I am furious at how Liverpool supporters themselves had turned their backs on you before you even left. We sang ’Though your dreams be tossed and blown Walk on, walk on,With hope in your heart And you’ll never walk alone” but I guess for a lot of people that meant nothing. For those who turned their back on you as soon as you bit someone, maybe they didn’t sing with as much conviction.Yes, I am subdued because you decided it was time to go, because I loved you. Yes, love, a pretty big word for me. I’m not one to use it lightly, and I have done so easily with you.,
You’re gone to another club, a club that is known for producing great players, I definitely don’t consider them to be a bigger club than Liverpool, but I hope they will treat you well.
You gave us more than we asked of you. You gave us hope, excitement, and most of all the come back we needed. You gave us goals, and so much joy, words cannot explain. For that, I hope you get what you deserve, in terms of a lifetime of happiness.
You put us through the one of the best years of our lives, bringing us so close to the title. You woke us up to the passion and dedication football should be bringing to our lives. Passion that was on the verge of dying in this money hungry game.
Now, let me talk about controversies. You’ve had your fair share, haven't you? Biting people, three times? There’s nothing I can say to defend what you did, and we shouldn’t be doing that. It was wrong, and I know you know it. Whether the reason was psychological or just childish, it doesn’t matter right now. What has been done, has been done. Yes, people were not right to call for your head, act like you committed a sin against nature. I’m sure murderers have been given more benefit of the doubt, but what you did was still wrong. You don’t just bite people. You headbutt them, you kick them in the fact, you hit them, you punch them, it’s all okay. Just please don’t bite people. It’s not socially acceptable, and socially acceptable, in today’s world is more important than just doing what your gut says. You know that, and if you didn’t, i’m sure everyone in the WORLD reminded you of that.
I’ve heard the Evra story, we all have, but the truth  is, i’ve not seen proof. I’ll admit as a Liverpool supporter, I’m never going to believe a United player over a Red, so I’m not going to get into that. I don't think you would have built such a wonderful partnership with Sturridge if you were such a racist man. If people think you’re racist, they’re allowed an opinion. If you really were, I hope that’s changed. I hope you realize that you just cannot do such things when the world is watching.
I’ve heard of your struggle, your story and it was beautiful. From where you were to where you’ve come, I’m proud of you. You are truly what the sport is about, hard work, determination, passion, controversy. I hope the world see’s many more of such players in the future.
You may not be remembered for your unbelievable goals, undying dedication, or exciting football. Every time someone brings up your name, you will always be remembered as that person who bit people. To them I say, hate the player all you want, but love his game. Know this, there will be thousands of fans who remember you as the person who bought Liverpool back on track, the person, who made it rain goals, the person who cried when our title hopes were over, cried like a little kid. The one quote that I will associate with you forever is ‘No genius ever comes without a touch of madness’
It’s time to end this letter, and with a heavy heart, it’s time to say goodbye. Yes, like people do with ex’s I might stalk your Facebook profile, or look at you in that Barcelona jersey with the bitter thought of what could have been. I am very possessive by nature and may always feel that you are still ours, but the truth is, you have left.
And I don’t blame you.

I ended my rant when Torres left with ‘Goodbye and good riddance’, but to you my parting words are the exact opposite.

Thank you for everything, thank you for showing us the best season in many years. Good bye, good luck and hope we see in you red once again.

You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Body Shop Blueberry Body-Scrub Gelee Review

It's been a while since I've blogged at all, but fear not, there's a reason for that. I've decided to branch out from generic posts or just artsy fartsy things! It's time to add something new, so here's my first review, of my new favourite thing this month!

It was pure boredom that led me to Body Shop one afternoon, and the first thing that caught my eye was this body scrub. Sometimes, you can’t explain why you gravitate towards something, but maybe it was my subconscious acknowledging my love for all things blueberry. I opened the tester tub for a whiff and was almost immediately sold. Not only did it smell deliciously fruity, but looked exactly like jam with bits and chunks of fruit in it.

The first thing I was tempted to do when I reached home , was taste it. Yes, I am that person. So of course, that’s exactly what I did.

Needless to say, it didn’t taste like Blueberry Jam (hint: bitter), but the risk was worth because, well, what if it did?

The body scrub is very thick and easily glides across your skin. It has different sized grains that leave your skin feeling fresh and gently exfoliates without a greasy film or dry skin. The after effect is instantly soothing and leaves you with an after-spa like feeling.

This body-scrub is definitely a great treat at reasonable price.

Pros:

  • Smells fruity and delicious
  • Good texture
  • Non greasy
  • Easy on sensitive skin

Cons:

  • None

Price

  • Rs.1300 or £12.50

Would I buy it again? Hell yes.

if skrtel were a woman.

the cutest proposal

Now isn't this just the cutest. Been together so long, still in love?

Alex and Steven have been together since 2002 and they became engaged just days after their daughter Lilly-Ella was born. Alex recalls: “When we got back from hospital, Steven told me he had a surprise - he had tucked an engagement ring in the folds of the baby’s blanket and I found the box. I opened it to see this amazing diamond engagement ring

This time it's different.

This time, it's different. No losing to smaller teams, better performances, lesser draws and more goals. Can you feel it? Nothing is impossible.

12 reasons why it's great to be a liverpool fan!

We win, we lose, we still love this team with all our hearts. It's been quite a few difficult years to be a fan, but we're still here, we're still in this together. Glory isn't everything, here are a few reasons why it's great to be a Liverpool fan!

1) This is one history lesson that you'll never find boring.

Whether it's those legendary stories from Shankly's time, Robbie Fowler's fastest hattrick, the treble won in 2001 or the legendary win in Istanbul back in 2005, you'v got to admit that reliving this history lesson is more fun than any history class you may have attended. This is a 'class' of a different level!

2) Stevie's kisses

There are many pictures floating around of Manchester United players kissing the Premier League trophy, but honestly it isn't half as awesome as Stevie G's kisses because his kisses are not intended for glory but for us, the true #LFC fans who can't be there, watching the game live.

3) Loyalty

One of the few clubs to have so many loyal players. Through thick and thin, they have stuck by us and we are so grateful to have these guys! Nothing beats the feeling of watching a loyal player give his all for his team, a team we all love.

4) Those dance moves

Remember the Robo-Crouch? Don't we just have some of the coolest dance moves? Even Carra got in on the action!

5) That one game you'll never get sick of watching

25-05-05, The day we won it 5 times. From trailing 3-0 to winning the Champions League, no matter how many times you watch this game ,it will never get boring! Do you still get excited as if it were happening live? I do!

6) That love never fails to get you smiling

Nothing like a good bromance to make your day and sometimes rivalry needs to take a break for all the right things. The love shared between the reds can put a smile on my face even on the worst of days!

7)  Those moments that always make you smile!

Not only do these players entertain you with their great football, but their little quirks will always find a way to put a smile on your face. Football might be bad for your heart, but these guys add a little spring to your step!

8) Those goosebumps. 'You'll never walk alone'

It happened in 2005, it happened when we beat United 4-1 and it happens during every game, but the anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' never fails to bring shivers to my spine and give me goosebumps. In that moment, it doesn't matter where you are, you believe that you are right there, in that giant sea of red.

9) When someone matters, we show it.

Loyalty is rare, we hardly see it anymore, nor do we see it rewarded. At Liverpool, those who are special will always be treated that way. No player in Red will ever walk alone.  *Sheds a tear in memory of Carra's tribute*

10) Never to be written off.

One thing we all learned from the Champions League 2005 is that Liverpool FC is one team you should never write off. This is further highlighted in our current season, it's not over and we're back, bitches!

11) Those hilarious banners.

David Moyes is a football genius? Enough said.

12) Whether we're laughing or crying we're in this together.

You'll Never Walk Alone.
